Guys I really need help!Is my friend insecure about being my friend, because I am not popular?

Maybe he actually liked you and wants to keep his distance. The other thing could be that he is a jerk and you shouldnt bother with him at all. Being popular means nothing, and by the time he realizes that it will be too late and he will have no real friends. Trust me, I know. Confront him about it, and dont be shy, whats the worst that could happen, you guys dont stay friends? If that happens, he wasnt a true friend in the first place, and you sound better than that.
