Should I ruin my happiness for someone who I owe my whole life to?

You can't she's set on seeing the world the way that she wants to see it and with out therapy she's not going to change that attitude. You don't say how old you are and how much contact you have with your mother. IF you're an adult and can limit your contact with your mother than do so.You know that as a Christian you have to honor your mother but that does not mean that you have to embrace the way that she sees the world or let that be the way that you view life. You have a right to live your life as you see best as long as you're not hurting yourself or anyone else. Honor and love your mother for having given you life and taking care of you when you couldn't take care of yourself but now that you're now moving to a point where you decide your life and what you choose to believe in.
