What do bananas taste like?

so I went to the market today to get some ramen and coke. I accidentally walked through the produce section and saw all of these colorful items. One was called "banana." I am not really a fruits and vegetable guy but i wondered how bananas taste like. They look very colorful and good but I am afraid that i will not like them. Are they actually good? what sort of texture do they have? Is it like slimy, hard, squishy or cold?Maybe i should i just stick with the ramen? Is there another fruit or vegetable that is better? Is this fruit (or vegetable) really exotic or is it sold everywhere?
